PRESS RELEASE:
Eyesight Associates, located at 216 Corder Road, continues to stay up to date with the latest technological advances in surgical devices and techniques. Patient satisfaction after surgery depends on precise preoperative measurements, clear communication, modern technology and a reputable surgeon. Dr. Johnny Gayton continues to improve our practice by using the most advanced equipment available. Eyesight Associates newest addition is the LENSTAR LS900, the first optical biometer that has the capability to obtain nine crucial measurements during one thirty second scan. This phenomenal machine assists in a more accurate patient diagnosis and superior visual results by improving consistency in measurements.
Dr. Gayton specializes in improving vision without glasses. Some of the methods he uses are LASEK, lensectomy, cataract surgery, and astigmatism treatments. By offering a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatments we can individualize a plan to meet the vision needs of most patients. The same vision treatment will not work for everyone because everyone is unique. Vision correction can be a confusing decision for most people, Eyesight Associates offers free screenings to discuss the different options that are currently available.
For laser vision correction patients, we have the Allegretto wave excimer laser system, which is the fastest and most precise laser system for vision correction available in the U.S. The laser employs what is called “Perfect Pulse Technology” to safely and accurately control every single laser pulse from start to finish. This system was developed more recently than other vision correcting lasers, including the Visx, LADAR, and Technolas lasers. This excimer laser incorporates an up to date tracking system with accurate laser beams complete with built in wavefront optimization. This new generation of refractive technology allows most patients to achieve exceptional visual results, day and night. The Wavelight has the ability to customize treatments to a patient’s individual refractive needs. This modern excimer laser uses wavefront optimized treatments to consider the unique curvature of each eye, preserving the quality of vision.
Many of our patients over 40 years of age may be better candidates for another excellent procedure called Lensectomy. As we age, the lens inside our eye loses its ability to focus both near and far, this is called presbyopia. A lensectomy can correct presbyopia, cataracts, astigmatism, nearsightedness and/or farsightedness by replacing the eye’s natural lens with an artificial lens specifically selected to provide the patient with better vision. The ReSTOR and Tecnis Multifocal intraocular lenses are presbyopia correcting lenses that are specifically designed to allow a patient to see up close and at a distance with less dependency on glasses. For patients with cataracts and/or pre-existing astigmatism, there is the Toric intraocular lens, which corrects for both conditions simultaneously by delivering precise astigmatic correction, predictable outcomes and quality distance vision without glasses. A visit to our practice can allow us to customize a plan that is best for you!
